Directory Listing: Our annual membership directory is a vital tool for ICDC members. Each members name, address and telephone number is listed in the directory and one is provided as a complimentary gift to all members.
Web Page: Our home page gives exposure to Itawamba County. Use the ICDC Web site to promote your business or display advertisements. For more information as to how you can buy an advertising slot on the Web site contact: ICDC or call at 1-800-371-8642.
Referrals: Each week the ICDC receives a number of inquires from people all over the United States. Questions are asks, such as "What hotels and restaurants are there in your area?" or " Have you heard of a certain business and how might I contact them?" Many time people use a specific business just because that business is a member or ICDC. ONLY ICDC members will be referred.
Newcomers/Visitors Listing: When a new family moves in or stops to visit, one of the first things they do is contact the local Chamber of Commerce to get information on area Realtors, businesses, services, schools, and health care facilities. An ICDC member you have the opportunity to make a early, positive impression on these newcomers to Itawamba County. Our newcomers packet includes a listing of community, businesses and service providers in out county. ONLY ICDC members will be listed.
ICDC Membership Certificate and Plaque: Identify your business as an ICDC member by prominently displaying your ICDC plaque and membership certificate. It represents your and your company's commitment to the future of Itawamba County.
Ribbon Cuttings: Diplomats from the community join with representative from ICDC in greeting new businesses, changes of ownership and grand openings with official ribbon-cutting ceremonies. A photograph of the ribbon-cutting and/or news announcement will appear in the local newspaper, The Itawamba County Times. This is a great way to get your business off to a running start.
Leadership Itawamba: Leadership Itawamba is one of the longest running leadership program in the State of Mississippi. Graduating a large class every year, Leadership seeks to provide leadership training skills, and promotes civic pride and interaction in more than 200 county graduates.
Rural Community Development Council (RCDC): Since 1940's the Rural Community Development Councils have worked throughout our county providing grass-roots community projects and development. These organizations are open to anyone in the community and we are always working to begin new RCDC's in other communities.
Legislative Reception: The Itawamba County Development Council (ICDC) hosts an annual legislative appreciation reception. The reception offers you or your business an opportunity to thank our Mississippi Legislators and voice any concerns or legislative opinions you might have.
Council-of-Governments: This committee consist of county, city, federal and state government agencies. This round-table group meet to collectively discuss current issues facing Northeast Mississippi and Itawamba County. Seeking to improve government services and better utilize tax payer dollars is the focus of the Council-of-governments.
Annual Meeting: ICDC hosts an annual meeting and dinner yearly featuring a prominent speaker. The program also present the Volunteer of the Year Award to the individual by giving their time for the benefit of the community.
Shop Itawamba County Members: Use your membership directory and patronize the ICDC members' businesses. Be sure to inform them of your member ship and their business will come back to you.
Mini-Grant Program: The ICDC provides a Mini-Grant Program in which ONLY members are eligible to apply. The purpose of the mini-grant will be to encourage active participation throughout the county in worthwhile community projects that emphasize and enhance the economic, community and social images of that community.
Publications: ICDC produces a quarterly newsletter highlighting activities, programs and new members. In addition advertising opportunities and sponsorships are available with the publications.
Meeting Facilities: ICDC members benefit from the use of the ICDC Building Facilities FREE of charge with paid membership. All rooms need to be reserved in advance to ensure availability.
